Hornet Hierarchy

from An Alliterative Album by vgperson

/

about

Henry had to write a paper about hornets. But he didn't really know anything about hornets.

They have a queen, right? That must mean they have a king, too. Or another queen, if she feels like it.

Then there's prince and princess hornets who grow up with great expectations to lead the hive to prosperity.

There are also all these duke and duchess... hornets, which, um, own land. In the hive. Honeycombs.

And at the bottom are worker bees - I mean hornets, which do work until they die. Unless one of them kills the queen and becomes the new queen.

Yeah, that sounds about right.
